AI lip sync: give a silent clip a voice with Kling or VEED
Lip sync takes a clip you already like and a voice, and makes the mouth say the words. Everything else in the clip stays as it was. Two tools, with real before and after clips.

Best for
- ✓Giving a voice to a clip you already like, without making it again
- ✓Swapping the words in a clip: a new line, a new language, a new voice
- ✓Characters that aren't people. Our T-rex works on Kling Lip Sync
- ✓VEED Lip Sync for cheap, quick runs. It bills by the second and takes about a minute
- ✓Kling Lip Sync for short clips of 2 to 10 seconds
Where it struggles
- —Kling Lip Sync only takes clips of 2 to 10 seconds, and bills per started 5 seconds of the clip
- —Lip sync changes the mouth only. To make a still photo talk, use OmniHuman or VEED Fabric
- —Start from a clip where the face is clear and the mouth isn't hidden. A turned-away head gives the tool nothing to sync
- —Make the voice first in the Audio lane, about as long as the clip, so the words fit
What you give it
A clip and a voice. Make the voiceover first in the Audio lane. Then open the Talk lane, pick a lip sync tool, add the clip and choose that voiceover. There is no prompt.
The best source clip is a silent one where the person or character is already facing the camera with a closed or relaxed mouth. The tool keeps every other movement in the clip.
Kling Lip Sync or VEED Lip Sync?
VEED Lip Sync is the budget pick: it bills by the second of the clip and comes back in about a minute. Kling Lip Sync takes a little longer and bills per started 5 seconds, for clips of 2 to 10 seconds. Both prices are at the top of this page.
Both kept the rest of the clip unchanged in our runs above. Try a short clip on each and keep the one you like.
Questions
What is AI lip sync?
A tool that changes only the mouth in a video so it says the words in a voice track you give it. The rest of the clip stays the same.
How long can the clip be?
Kling Lip Sync takes clips of 2 to 10 seconds. VEED Lip Sync bills by the second of the clip.
Can I make a photo talk instead?
Yes, with a talking photo tool: OmniHuman or VEED Fabric. They start from a still picture rather than a clip.
